Artist Statement

As a mixed media artist, my practice is shaped by a background in textile design, counselling, and transpersonal art therapy. Working primarily with acrylics on linen or board, I integrate printmaking techniques and alternative substrates to create layered, expressive works. My creative process is deeply influenced by my connection to the natural world and the symbolic language of the psyche. Through both still life and abstraction, I explore themes of presence, reflection, and inner experience. The meditative quality of painting allows me to access a space where image, emotion, and intuition converge. Nature—particularly birds and their rich symbolic associations—plays a central role in my work, serving as a bridge between the seen and unseen. Guided by an interest in archetypes, dreams, and the universal imagery of the unconscious, I aim to create pieces that invite contemplation and evoke deeper layers of meaning.
